"I dig on thinking about balance.  I’m amazed at how much impact moving my subject matter around has on the composition.  Slowly refining the still-life setup is similar to tuning guitar strings – when it’s balanced it feels harmonized.  Love that!  If balance was the melody, color could be the solo on top of the melody.  Color is a powerful addition to the painting, creating an atmosphere of any desire."
