GRAPHITE DRAWINGS WOODWORKING PRIVACY SCREENS

Christopher Brown was born in Rutland Vermont in 1961. After spending time studying at the Lake Placid School of Art he received a BFA from SUNY Purchase in White Plains NY. His concentration in printmaking led him to apprentice at Tyler Graphics where he worked with Ken Tyler, Robert Motherwell, David Hockney and Frank Stella.

Christopher has been drawing and observing trees all his life. His pencil marks are painterly and he translates the landscapes with thoughtfulness. The character of the wood lends itself to the composition of the drawings, and the whimsical pencil stroke expresses an excitement and appreciation of nature. His signature cabinets are a culmination of his love for woodworking and drawing; he would like the furniture to be a pleasure visually as well as functional. As a self taught woodworker Christopher has enjoyed combining passions in order to create a timeless piece of artwork.
