Phill Evans' first experience with sculpting was carving tiki gods and selling them on the beaches of Southern California.  He attended Louisiana State University, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

The artist has been self-employed as a sculptural designer for fifteen years.  He has expanded his skills through a diversity of architectural, ornamental iron and animated exhibit projects.  Recently he has developed his sculpture through private commissions, a network of galleries and public art pieces.

Using metal fabricated matrix with stone elements, Evans has created sculptures in four series:  "Freeway Series" depicts thoughts while driving on the freeway; "Group Cruisers" expresses social gatherings in transition; "Air and Oscillating Eccentrics" delineates abstract structures in motion; and "Sentinels, Callers, Dancers and Gunslingers" portrays spirits in charge.

This award-winning artist has held several one-man shows since 1966 in Germany and California.  He has participated in-group shows, as well, with the Los Angeles County Fair and Art in Motion in Tempe, Arizona, being his most recent. Phill has done commissioned work for the University of California, Davis; First Commercial Bank and Office of the State Architect in Sacramento, among many others.
