Robert Bracketti is a self-taught sculptor, painter and mixed-media artist. He has worked extensively in bronze and with stainless steel and has a foundry background, which includes a 2 1/2-year apprenticeship under the auspices of well-known San Francisco Bay area sculptor Al Farrow. Characteristic of his bronze works is a hands-on approach to every aspect through completion, from pouring of bronze to patination and basing of works. Bracketti’s current focus remains a grueling  6-day-a-week schedule. He is as comfortable working from a foundry setting as from his working-warehouse painting studio/gallery showroom.

Over the past 2 decades, Bracketti's painting has evolved beyond a world of muted, shadowy, transitory content work punctuated by brilliant colors that seem to percolate to their individual surfaces. The feeling of the earlier works has given way to a sense of pleasure in the sobriety of pure pigments and their ability to record and amplify emotion. In the present work is reflected an array of luminaries, and an abrasive mix of sources which come cartooning forth from the annals of art history, with influences as varied and diverse as Warhol, Milton Avery, Pollock and the abstract expressionists. Years of dedication to a latex-based medium have resulted in a straight-talking synthesis and a evolving style that seems chock-full of painting culture.
